State employees and educators will receive 20% off through Jan. 6, 2025

BEREA, Ky. (Nov. 25, 2024) - The Kentucky Artisan Center will be offering a 20% merchandise discount for all Kentucky state employees and educators this Christmas season. This discount will be available now through Monday, Jan. 6, 2025. State employees must show proof of employment for the discount to be honored.

The Kentucky Artisan Center features works by over 850 Kentucky-based artists and small businesses in one convenient location. Products range from fine art, art prints, jewelry, books, seasonal items, Kentucky Proud food products and more. With something to interest loved ones of all ages, there are many opportunities to gift a Kentucky-made item this Christmas season at a discounted price.

The Kentucky Artisan Center is an agency in the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Located off Berea Exit 77 on Interstate Highway 75, the center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. In addition to shopping, the center offers traveler services, exhibits, artist demonstrations and dining options. The Artisan Café & Grill is open for breakfast and lunch, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Kentucky Artisan Center builds on the New Kentucky Home initiative by attracting visitors and supporting hundreds of artists and businesses across the commonwealth. The center purchases works directly from artists for resale, helping individual businesses thrive. In turn, it showcases these artistic creations to travelers from around the world who pass through Kentucky.

Earlier this year, the Governor announced that 2023 was the best year on record for tourism, with $13.8 billion in economic impact and 95,222 jobs. This followed a record-breaking 2022 when he announced that tourism had generated more than $12.9 billion in economic impact and secured 91,668 jobs in Kentucky that year.

In November 2023, Gov. Beshear announced that the commonwealth broke an all-time record with nine new tourism development projects set to generate an estimated $292.1 million in economic investment. These projects also are expected to create 550 jobs once operational. Through October 2024, nine tourism development projects have an estimated investment of $251.5 million. The projects will provide 352 full-time jobs and 1,326 part-time jobs once operational.
