Artist Application

Juried Artisan Program – Apply to Participate!

The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea aims to showcase the talents of Kentucky-based artists and small businesses across a wide variety of mediums. As an agency of the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet, we do this by creating wholesale and consignment relationships with artisans across the state, then retailing their products in a single, centralized space. This way, we can support hundreds of artisans and their products at once. We currently carry works such as paintings, sculptures, pottery, ceramics, woodcarvings, and traditional folk art, as well as art prints, textiles, jewelry, home décor, furniture, greeting cards, books/literature, music, children’s toys, beauty products, Kentucky Proud specialty food products, and MORE.

To feature work in our retail or gallery settings, the first step is to fill out the appropriate application (linked below). Select the category that best describes the products you would like to market, then review the application thoroughly before filling it out. Be sure to include ALL the required materials alongside your completed application. Completed applications may be mailed to the Artisan Center, delivered electronically by email, or dropped off in-person at our front desk. See below for the appropriate contacts:

From here, your application will be reviewed by our jury panel during their next product selection meeting. The jurors on the panel are comprised of Artisan Center administrative staff who will review submissions and accept or deny products based on design excellence, craftsmanship, marketability, pricing, and variation between items that are already carried or well represented at the Center. While the jury meets on an as-needed basis, one can typically expect to hear back regarding their acceptance status within 30 days of the jury receiving the application. Any questions regarding the application process or personal application statuses may be directed to Aly Norton via email (aly.norton@ky.gov) or the Kentucky Artisan Center’s primary phone number (859) 985-5448.
