Goals

The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea's goals, as enacted by the Center's Authority Board, are to…

  • exemplify and promote quality Kentucky artisan products, Kentucky cultural heritage experiences, traveler services, and hospitality.
  • provide visitors with unique and authentic on-site experiences and also stimulate visits to Kentucky cultural heritage businesses and attractions in the region and throughout Kentucky.
  • generate interest in and provide information about Kentucky's artisan traditions and today's diverse Kentucky artisans, their processes, and their works.
  • generate increased sales of works made by Kentucky artisans, through sales on-site and in other facilities.
  • provide greater visibility for and generate increased sales of quality agricultural and other center-appropriate products that are made or produced in Kentucky.
  • provide visitors with excellent dining opportunities that feature quality Kentucky products, Kentucky dishes, and service.
  • develop linkages and manage all resources wisely, to maximize the Center's positive economic, educational, and quality of life impact throughout the state of Kentucky.
In 2006 the Center also took on the added role of providing the only mid-state traveler's rest stop on I-75.
