Sebastian Moh, Louisville, KY

clay

Sebastian Moh moved to the United States from Malaysia to get a degree in product design. While in college, he took the opportunity to study ceramics by taking ceramics as his elective course work.

He states, “Years ago in Malaysian, I witnessed a demonstration on the wheel and it planted a seed. I was drawn to the idea of indefinite variation, of tapping into an eternity of creativity. From that point I paid close attention to the ceramic arts.”

After working in the hospitality industry for a few years, Moh decided to pursue the vision that had formed so strongly as a youth. He set up a small studio and began exploring the possibilities with clay.

Moh states, “The essence of my work is to create a visual interest that will trigger an aesthetic response. The vessels articulate a rhythm that appeals to an abstract and universal human emotion.
