Dave Caudill, Louisville, KY

Metal Sculpture

Dave Caudill, a native of Corbin, KY, has drawn since a child. After studying at the Louisville School of Art, and working as a graphic designer, Dave began taking his drawings into the realm of stainless steel sculpture. His work is influenced by music and captures gesture and motion.

All Dave’s sculptures are welded with a MIG welder that produces a 2900 degree welding spark. The welded steel parts actually melt and flow together to form a very strong bond. Using industrial grinders, Dave creates surfaces on the maintenance free steel that dazzle in the sun and moonlight.

Dave’s commissioned sculptures can be found in Louisville at the Louisville Zoo, at the University of Louisville’s School of Music, at Brown Forman Corporation headquarters and at the University of KY’s Singletary Center for the Arts, Lexington’s arboretum, and at www.caudillart.com

Dave’s sculpture can also be found at the Pyro Gallery, Louisville, KY and the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea, in Berea, KY.
