Stephen Farmer - Berea, KY

Bitttersweet Woodworking

Woodworking

Stephen Farmer makes hand-crafted kitchen utensils, toys and games, and snowflake ornaments from walnut, cherry, and oak. No stains are used and all joinery is traditional, using time-honored methods. Variations in color and grain pattern are normal reflections of the living wood. The swirls and burls enhance the individuality of every wood piece.

Steve finishes his kitchen items with pure mineral oil, which can be re-applied as needed. Steve is a member of the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program, the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen, and Appalachian Fireside Industries.

Steve’s work can be found at Appalachian Fireside Gallery in Berea, at the Appalachian/Kentucky Artisan Center in Hindman, Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill, and at the Kentucky Artisan Center in Berea.
