December 21, 2011 From the Director The Kentucky Artisan Center is always a great place
to find Kentucky gifts, with everything sold at the Center being a
Kentucky-made product. Visitors shop here daily for unique gifts made by
artisans from all across the state. We hope as you gather this season with family and
friends or travel to join them, you will visit our center to select gifts, dine
in our cafe, or just enjoy our hospitality. Be sure to note our holiday hours
below, and our winter hours, which will begin on January 2. We hope you have a wonderful holiday season, and we
all send you our best wishes for a Happy New Year! |

Kentucky Artisan Center Named in
USA Today's "10 Great Places to Shop for Crafts"
The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea was the first of ten craft
galleries in the United States included in a feature article, "10 Great Places
to Shop at Crafts Galleries" in the Dec. 9 weekend edition of USA

Jan. 2 Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea
Invites Artisan Applications for 2012 The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea invites Kentucky artisans to apply to have their work selected to be offered for sale at the center. Product application categories are crafts and other visual arts, music, film, foods, and literary works. Applicants must be residents of Kentucky and at least 18 years of age. Application forms may be requested by calling the center at 859-985-5448. Forms may also be downloaded from the center's website. Deadlines for Receipt of

ARTISANS IN THE NEWS
Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea Brook Forrest White, Jr. had his work on exhibit at J. Higgins Gallery in Louisville. Gary Cooper of Cooper's Woodworking Studio was the recipient of an Award of Excellence for his woodworking at the 2011 Greater Cincinnati Winter Fair. The Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum has named Kentucky author and tea blender Bruce Richardson as Tea Master for the historic project opening in Boston Harbor on June 24, 2012. Richardson is a columnist for TeaTime magazine and is a frequent guest speaker at tea, art, and historical events across the country. For 22 years, he has been the owner of Elmwood Inn Fine Teas in Perryville, Kentucky. His teas and books on tea are regularly available at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea. |
